Sky & Water, An Art Practice Workshop
Art is 90% practice and 10% technique. In this class, you’ll learn how to build a regular art practice for 2025, focusing on fast-to-do thumbnail sketches. Choose a rhythm that works for you—daily, weekly, or monthly—and create a space to explore, experiment, and even make a few mistakes along the way.
Like the masters who sketched countless ideas in pencil and watercolor before tackling their masterpieces, you’ll develop your own approach through small, intentional pieces. Inspired by the East River and Newtown Creek, we’ll use the sky and water as examples.
For our guided example, you’ll work on a 2 x 2 grid—one sketch a week for a month—using pencil, markers, ink, watercolors, or the medium of your choice.
Beginners and all levels are welcome. Art supplies will be provided, but please bring your own if you'd like.
After a 10-minute slideshow, we'll have the remaining time to focus on art.
While the event is primarily aimed at adults, those aged 12 and above are welcome with adult supervision.
You are welcome to bring food and drink for yourself or to share.
Space is limited so registration is required. Register at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sky-water-an-art-practice-workshop-tickets-1095510243629
